Halsey's ready to 'embark' on a 'journey' with new Prime Video series

Halsey may have called her latest album The Great Imposter, but hopefully she won't feel that way as she moves into the world of TV writing.

Variety reports that the "Without Me" singer is developing a "dark comedy" TV series for Prime Video. She's not planning to star in it; instead, she'll create, write and executive produce the project, called Bloodlust. Ti West, who directed Halsey in the 2024 film MaXXXine, will direct and executive produce the series. Another executive producer is Mark Friedman, who was previously involved in two other dark comedies: Severance and Dispatches from Elsewhere.

Halsey wrote on Instagram, "very excited to embark on this journey with some of the best people that I know. more to say later. for now, there's work to do."

Prior to this project, Halsey's involvement in movies and TV was limited to acting: She played herself in A Star Is Born and in the Showtime series Roadies, and provided voices for animated films like Sing 2 and Teen Titans Go! To the Movies.
